18th century Venetian room

You are now in this room that takes its name from the furniture, consisting of a group of typical 18th century Venetian furniture, lacquered and painted.

Among these, we point out a rare example of a sideboard lacquered in aquamarine green and painted with plant motifs and two allegorical female figures, representing Music and Astronomy, with a fake marble top, a pretty sedan decorated with gallant scenes of exquisitely arcadic taste and a double-movement concert harp (c. 1830) of the Maison Erard.

In this room you can notice a walled door showcases some examples of Murano glass, including three vases with blown glass lids and golden decorations in relief (c. XVI) from the collections of the branch of the Erizzo di San Martino family, whose ancestor Francesco was the doge of Venice. The vase in the middle is decorated in the centre with a motif called "diamond-tipped" arranged in five parallel rows, while in the upper part there is a foliage decoration. The vase on the left has a decoration with masks within rippled margins; while on the right vase are depicted two winged dragons.

At the center of the room you can see an elegant sedan chair decorated with gallants scenes of Arcadian taste (mid-eighteenth century).
