The visit to the Museum starts in the atrium, where the archaeological and architectural evidence relating to the various chronological sequences of the building are preserved, brought to light during the restoration works.
The first room corresponded, in the fifteenth-century building, to a courtyard around which the domestic environments developed. A second small courtyard was accessed through a large exposed brick arch set on marble pillars with bases and capitals - still visible today.
A double pair of columns in red Verona marble, with acanthus foliage capitals, delimits the third room of the atrium, which leads to the staircase that leads to the Museum.
